a home for the granny china

After hanging out in the dark cupboard Granny's china has finally found a suitable home.  We picked this up at an old local estate who is downsizing.  I loved it's simple and classic lines, it's age, it's smaller size, and the price tag was surprisingly pleasing as well.  We took the 3 (yes three) strollers, pack n play, toys, etc and shoved them around the kids feet.  We scooted all the chairs forward until I was driving closer to the steering wheel than my mother (sorry Mom), and squeezed the new old piece of furniture in the back of the van.  Have I mentioned how amazing modern day minivans are?

Anyway!  I get off topic easily.  I'm very pleased to have another little piece of our family history gracing the walls of our home.  However, my biggest desire still remains for the rooms of this house to be filled with the love, peace, and joy of Our Father.  Blessings to everyone this weekend.  Hope it is a good one, filled with warmth and joy.

Mother's Day 2012

Loving my sweet kids and extremely supportive husband.  I have been a little tired and cranky lately.  We have had lots of minor illness over the past month and this week the kids got hands foot mouth.  I've been missing family and friends.  My kind David was so helpful yesterday and smothered me with homemade cards complete with kids handprints, gifts, and back rubs.

Here is a pic of the kiddos from today.  Praising God for his goodness and mercy even in the midst of challenges.  And especially for his grace and forgiveness.

Went to the post office to pick up David's birthday gift that shipped all the way from the UK (some bits of leather for a long overdue interior upgrade on the Supra).  The kind post office lady gave her some "stamps."  She enjoyed them I think.

Blessed by wonderful friends.  Bojana and I finally ate lunch out of the house.  Why didn't we do this before?? No preparing of food.  No mess or dishes to worry about.  No toys to fight over or turf to lay claim to.  And no sandwich of mine compares to Five Guys burgers and fries.

Afterwards we walked over to the Babies'r'us.  We swapped children in our double strollers.  Nina Kate liked the new stroller and didn't mind a new side-kick for a few minutes.

Elmo continues to be Nina Kate's favorite.
We have an abundance of clover this year.  Will buy some weed'be'gone soon, but for now I'll just teach Nina how to make flower chains. =)

Cute Eyes

I sit down next to Nina and begin to brush her hair.  She looks up at me and says:
"Cute eyes Mama!  Black eyes.  Cute mouth.  Cute teeth.  Sharp teeth Mama."
I tease her and chomp at her fingers.  Then ask her what color my hair is.  She thinks for a few seconds and says, "gold!"

I like that answer!
